Racing the Hansennes

Im 1887 Hansenne bred "Criquet" and "St. Vincent" as his name implies, was the winner of the great race from the liberation point of that name (well over 600 miles) and was also second from the same race point later.  "Criquet" won as follows: 2nd and 5th Tolosa 650 miles; 1st Benoit. 1st Issoudun, 1st Paris, 3rd Tourney and 4th Villa Perdu.

I will show you the above performance over the testing 650 mile distance means by comparing them with the work done by the birds of the late J.O. Allen.

The Hansenne's performance over testing 650 mile race routes could be gotten by comparing them with the work done by the birds of the late J.C. Allen, admitted to be one of the greatest of Britain's pioneer fanciers.  In July 1875, he sent five birds to Galais, a distance of 238 miles.  Three homed.
