Harvey Peer Pure Paul Sions

Birds which are from a family of “old line” PAUL SIONS. They have been maintained and kept straight for about 60 years by Harvey Peer of New Jersey through a judicious program of line-breeding and inbreeding and strict selection. This family is primarily based on the old and very successful Landing View Loft “Black Eyed Sions” and with the addition of some select birds a number of years ago from the Charles Heitzman and Madrona Loft [Paul] Sion lines. It is interesting to note that a large number of the present day Sions in this family still have the dark mahogany / chestnut / wine colored eyes which were so characteristic of the old Landing View Sions. These Sions are generally medium in size with some being a little below medium and some slightly over medium and, in spite of the many years of linebreeding and inbreeding, they have maintained their strength and vigor. Overall, they are characterized by good backs, very strong vents, and wonderful eyes. They are also great looking birds, typical of the old Sion strain. Since this is a closely line-bred and inbred family, they should make an ideal cross with most other strains.
